Set list at Dry Dock open mic

April 17, 2026

The parrot -- Lulu, who I'm told is a caique -- was much better-behaved this week. I think she liked the mention of polly-topes.

I played:

I introduced Tilda as "a song about espionage" and Snowball as "a song about public health interventions" -- the 12yo's school is currently preparing to administer antibiotics to all of its pupils to get a grip on a meningitis outbreak.

I wouldn't normally play I Like The Pope to a non-maths audience, but I wanted Lulu to feel included and I thought polly-topes were the best way to do it.

Hooks is brand new, finished this morning, and went over well. Drive is starting to bed in a bit, too.

Oh! And for Stand Up, I asked if there were any Die Toten Hosen fans in, to stony silence, followed by "one day, there'll be a solitary German punk at the bar going RAWARGH! So this is for all the middle-aged German punks who can't be with us this evening."

Sometimes I think the introductions are more fun than the songs.
